PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION
(PTSA)

Both parents and students are encouraged to join and participate in the PTSA. Carl Sandburg PTSA is a part of the Illinois PTA and the National PTA. Membership in this organization allows the PTSA to work for the welfare of all children and youth in home, school and community, and provides us with the resources and benefits of a national organization.

The PTSA works with staff, students and parents to provide services, activities and programs that enrich the experience of all students at Carl Sandburg.

PTSA Membership

Both students and parents are encouraged to become PTSA members. By joining PTSA students receive free admission to PTSA activities and a voice in their PTSA.

PTSA Meetings

The PTSA Board welcomes your ideas and support.
Most monthly Board meetings are held at school on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and are listed in the calendar and newsletter.

Parents and students are welcome to attend meetings or work on individual committees.

PTSA Fundraising

Rather than hold traditional fundraisers, PTSA has chosen to request that parents donate a modest amount directly to PTSA.

This donation is tax-deductible, and supports our many programs and services.

Donations can be returned to school at any time in an enveloped marked "Ways and Means".

Checks should be made payable to Carl Sandburg PTSA.

Funds are also raised through monthly MARKET DAY SALES. Check the school calendar for the next Market Day sale date. Orders can be placed online at www.marketday.com or by dropping off an order form at the school office. Order forms are sent home each month with your student.
