CSJH PTSA runs fun school-wide Box Tops contests twice a year. Whenever you see Box Top, please clip it and save it for the contest!

Families are encouraged to become PTSA members!
Rather than hold traditional Fundraisers, PTSA has chosen to request that parents donate a modest amount directly to PTSA. This donation is tax deductible and supports our many programs and services. Donations can be returned to school at any time in an envelope marked "Ways & Means." Checks should be made payable to Carl Sandburg PTSA. A receipt will be provided if an email address is included.

On behalf of your CSJH PTSA - Welcome to your 2018-2019 Carl Sandburg Junior High School year! We are looking forward to a wonderful year with many exciting events for the students.
First, please come visit us during Walk Your Schedule Day which is Monday, August 13, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm. Please remember to bring your checkbooks/cash to purchase Assignment Notebooks ($5) and calculators ($15). We will be there to answer any questions you might have about Sandburg’s PTSA as well as being available for you to drop off your membership form, which is included in this summer mailer.
Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. Our principal, Mr. Harter, attends the meetings, so you will have the opportunity to hear first-hand about current happenings within the school and the district. The meeting dates and times for the entire school year can be found at our website www.sandburgptsa.org or through our weekly Snapshot news blasts. You can sign up at the website to receive these weekly emails. Sign your student up so they can be in the know as well!
The mission of the PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. While at times we need to fund raise to run our programs, that is not the purpose of our organization. With that being said this year we are challenged to meet our budget, which supports all of our programs. The PTSA will spend approximately $20 per student this year. In order to run our programs we have set a fundraising goal for the 2018-19 year of $6,000.00. Our hope is to fund these programs primarily through membership and direct donations from our Sandburg families. When you join the PTSA and make a donation 100% of your money is tax deductible and we keep a high percentage of that money. We will also be running Restaurant nights and the Manna Gift Card Program. We hope you will consider making a donation, in any amount.
We still have some committees open: VP of Programs, VP of Legislation, Concessions, Ways and Means, Health and Safety, SPARK, if you are interested please let us know.
Whether you join the PTSA, come to PTSA meetings, buy a book at the book fair or take time to volunteer at an event – it all contributes to the experience your student will have this year. We want to thank you in advance for all of your support.
